Toranmal
HISTORICAL IMPORTANCE :
Situated
in the middle range of satpuda, toranmal is the nice looking natural
site in Akrani Taluka of Nandurbar District in Maharashtra. The
place has popular sight seeing spots to visit, like Yashwant lake,
the Nagarjun and other ancient temples and Seeta Khai. In the
environs, there are two old temples of Gorakhnath and Nagarjun
respectively. Thousands of devotees attended the fair of the Gorakhnath
on Mahashivaratri day. The people from adjoining district of Maharashtra
and also from adjoining Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat attend the
fair.

Sitakhai
- A deep gorge, Machindra Gumpha - A natural cave,
Khadki
Point - A point giving panormic view of valleys, Sunset Point,
Lotus Lake.
There are different treks like Khadki, Seetakhai for trekkers.
A nature trail is developed by forest department for appreciating
the rich flora of the tract. There is also a forest park near
the lake.
BIODIVERSITY
:
The
total area of of Toranmal is 2000 ha. Out of which, the forest
area is 1565 hectares. Toranmal hill station is 1050 mtrs. above
mean seal level. In the month of January, the mercury lowers to
the minimum of 5 & in the month of may, it rises maximum upto
38 degree centigrade.
